Jewelry Care
All our Blissou pieces have been treated to prevent any damage or loss of shine. Nevertheless, it is important to bear the following considerations in mind:
- Jewelry can lose its shine due to external factors. When exposed to the open air for a long time, it may lose some of its original shine.
- Loss of plating or shine is a natural process that occurs over time through regular use. However, it can be restored through special cleaning or by having the pieces replated. For more information, please contact Customer Service.
- It is preferable to remove your jewelry before showering, exercising, or going to sleep.
- We recommend not exposing your jewelry to chemicals such as perfumes or colognes, cleaning products, chlorinated or salt water, cosmetics, etc.
Our tips for keeping your jewelry’s shine and plating intact and ensuring it remains in optimal condition for a long time are:
- MAINTAINING THE PLATING AND SHINE.
Jewelry can lose its plating or shine as a natural result of regular use. Therefore, at Blissou, we cannot guarantee that the shine and plating of our pieces will last forever.
It is important to take good care of your jewelry to preserve its shine and durability, as color loss can be caused by multiple factors. To prevent this, we recommend:
- Do not wet your jewelry. Avoid showering or swimming in the sea or pool while wearing it. On some occasions, sweat and the skin’s pH can also affect the condition of the jewelry.
- Avoid allowing your jewelry to come into contact with chemicals such as perfumes or colognes, cleaning products, cosmetics, silver polish, etc.
- Do not expose your jewelry to high temperatures, as this may affect the material. Its shape may change, and the stones may undergo color changes.
- CLEANING.
The ideal way to clean your jewelry is to use a soft-bristled brush and clean it with lukewarm water and pH-neutral soap. It is important to pay special attention to gold-plated pieces, as they are more delicate and require greater care. Therefore, you should rub them gently to prevent the plating from being lost or worn away. Afterwards, dry them with a cloth or chamois.
Special polishing cloths for silver are perfect for restoring your jewelry’s shine if it has been lost or if the piece has darkened over time.
- WHERE TO STORE YOUR JEWELRY.
Your jewelry should be stored away from direct sunlight and in a place with a suitable room temperature.
We recommend: jewelry boxes, pouches, or individual resealable plastic bags.
We do not recommend: any rubber item (these encourage jewelry to darken), or storing jewelry in damp places (e.g., the bathroom).
* Blissou boxes can be used as jewelry boxes for a short period of time, but for longer periods, we recommend moving the jewelry to a jewelry box to prevent color changes caused by lack of use.
